I had a crazy idea. On a Thursday night
back in the fall, I called several friends and told them
to meet me first thing Saturday morning on the Coney Island
Boardwalk. Fortunately for us, mid-November is not exactly
prime beach weather in New York City, but it was a surprisingly
warm and delightful winter morning.
We were on a mission
to tell a story of encouragement and how an entire community
can lift up one among them (inspired by Alanis Morissette's music video "Everything"). We also wanted to share the Beatitudes, a theme that we were studying at the time with Haven (hence the placards shown throughout the video).
We had about a dozen transitions to rehearse and a cast of seven (strung along over several hundred yards of boardwalk). And with camera in hand (backwards, mind you), we embarked on this one continuous four minute shot.
