The girls of summer are turning the heat up on the fall. Here are three songs that are taking over my sound waves, for better or worse... mostly worse, but I have no problem admitting that I like them. If they get stuck in your head, consider yourself warned.

• Jessica Simpson heads to the roller rink for A Public Affair. Question: is she really that good a skater girl? Bonus: who is Jess and her celeb pals poking fun at in the video?
• Meanwhile on the other side of the high school redux, Missy Elliott lights up the Friday night game with We Run This, featuring the supafly sampling of "Apache" (from Incredible Bongo Band).
• And not to be outdone, this triumvirate must begrudgingly include Fergie's London Bridge, which Brits will be the first to point out never actually appears anywhere in the video. She dances around Tower Bridge which is by far more recognizable and flashy, just like Fergie's... lip gloss.
